Restaurant and Events Manager

Location: Los Alamos

The Restaurant and Events Manager oversees all aspects of front-of-house and bar operations and food & beverage service at Skyview Los Alamos, including the restaurant, the pool area, and in-room dining, ensuring brand standards of service, food & beverage, and guest experience are consistently met. They manage the hiring, training, and ongoing development of all FOH staff, and work with the Executive Chef and General Manager to meet FOH labor and beverage cost  addition, the Restaurant Manager owns the property’s events and group business;

responding to inbound inquiries, pursuing outbound sales, negotiating and drafting contracts, and coordinating group room blocks together with food & beverage packages. They manage each event from initial inquiry through day-of-execution, working with onsite teams and outside vendors to ensure events are successful and profitable.

This position reports to the General Manager and the Nomada Hospitality Director of Restaurant Operations.

Restaurant and Food & Beverage Responsibilities:

Maintain and build on existing training manuals, checklists, and other written materials for a detailed, ongoing training program for all FOH staff, updating and adding to those documents where necessary.

Lead regular staff training, both day-to-day and scheduled, and lead the daily team line-up.

Oversee all day-to-day FOH food & beverage operations, including floor service, pool area service, and in-room dining.

Keep the POS and Open Table up to date, and monitor and audit both regularly.

Own all bar and beverage ordering and manage restaurant ordering, training, and cost control, along with monthly retail inventory.

Oversee recruitment, training, and scheduling of FOH employees, and ensure staff work productively and develop professionally.

Manage FOH and bar scheduling, staff clock-in adjustments and timecards.

Handle coaching, counseling, onboarding, and offboarding of Restaurant staff in conjunction with the GM.Keep tasting notes current and distributed to staff in a timely manner, with regular quizzing and follow-up.

Ensure staff follow health and safety regulations.

Events & Group Sales Responsibilities Respond promptly and accurately to all inbound event and group inquiries for Skyview Los Alamos Correspond with prospective clients in a professional and prompt manner, and lead targeted outreach to grow event and group sales.

Negotiate and create contracts for weddings, meetings, room blocks, dinner parties, receptions, and other special events, ensuring profitability and brand standards.

Manage and organize all relevant event documents to company standards, including BEOs, contracts, and deposit scheduling.

Work with the Chef to sell food & beverage packages for groups and events.

Coordinate group room blocks with Hotel Operations, ensuring room revenue targets are met and that guest accounts are current and paid prior to departure.

Supervise onsite staff and vendors and serve as the on-duty contact for events, day of.

Ensure each event is completed smoothly, and suggest solutions for improvement.

Coordinate needed event marketing materials and collateral with the Marketing team.

Provide the GM with regular event updates, including calendar status, outreach and inquiries.

Provide weekly updates to the F&B and hotel leadership team regarding upcoming events.

Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout all areas of the hotel and property - including the restaurant, pool area, and event spaces - for extended periods during the workday.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to the duration of a scheduled workday.

Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 25 - 50 pounds (e.g. cases of beverages)
