Compensation Manager
Eleven Recruiting is searching for a Compensation Manager for one of our largest mortgage clients sitting onsite in Westlake Village, CA. This role will oversee the full cycle of base and incentive compensation programs, with a focus on incentive design, compensation analysis, and process administration. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in compensation structures within mortgage lending or financial services, strong analytical and modeling skills, and proven ability to partner with business leaders to drive results.
Responsibilities:- Lead the design, modeling, and administration of incentive compensation plans across multiple mortgage business lines, including quarterly, monthly, and annual incentive programs.
- Manage the annual Base, Bonus, and Equity processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with policies.
- Partner with business leaders and HR Business Partners to evaluate current incentive structures, recommend enhancements, and design new plans that align with business goals.
- Conduct comprehensive compensation analyses, market benchmarking, and survey participation to ensure competitive pay practices.
- Oversee compensation data integrity and reporting, delivering actionable insights and productivity results to department leaders.
- Monitor compensation outcomes and provide presentations on incentive performance, cost impact, and program effectiveness.
- Lead, coach, and mentor compensation staff to build a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, and Operations to ensure proper compensation processing and alignment with budgets.
- Provide subject matter expertise on compensation-related issues, including regulatory considerations and market trends.
- Support executive reporting needs, board deliverables, and ad hoc analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, Mathematics, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive compensation experience, including significant exposure to incentive plan design and administration.
- Strong understanding of base pay administration, job evaluation, market pricing, and incentive lifecycle management.
- Experience in the mortgage, banking, or financial services industry strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel modeling skills; ability to analyze large data sets and perform scenario modeling.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to explain complex compensation concepts to senior leaders.
- Experience leading or supervising compensation teams; proven ability to coach and develop staff.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to partner across Finance, HR, and Operations functions.
- Professional certifications (CCP, CBP, PHR/SPHR) are a plus.
