Part Time Salary Range: $26.00 - $26.00 Hourly
* This is a Part Time position, starting between 25-30 hours per week. Proposed schedule would fall between M-F 10:30am to 5pm (with a 30min lunch) depending on weekly hours assigned.
The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department while developing proficiency across a broad range of HR functions. This position assists with recruiting, onboarding, employee administration, training coordination, benefits and payroll support, workers' compensation administration, and HR recordkeeping. The HR Generalist works collaboratively with the HR team to ensure timely, accurate, and confidential HR services while progressively expanding knowledge and responsibility through cross-training and professional development.
Recruitment& Administrative Support
- Coordinate calendars for interviews, orientations, training sessions, and other HR activities.
- Communicate with applicants throughout the hiring process.
- Conduct reference checks and employment testing.
- Assist with recruiting activities and applicant tracking.
- Train to conduct interviews for designated positions.
- Prepare recruiting documentation and hiring materials.
- Generate Paycom reports and assist with HR reporting requests.
- Maintain HR filing systems, scanning, document management, and electronic records.
- Process employment verification requests.
- Coordinate Live Scan background screenings.
- Create and distribute employee identification badges.
- Process Certificates of Insurance requests.
- Maintain personnel files and employment documentation.
- Ensure employee records remain organized, accurate, and confidential.
- Administer employee training assignments through ChurchHRNetwork.
- Track required training completion.
- Send compliance reminders and follow-up communications.
- Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
- Assist with onboarding and organizational training coordination.
- Reconcile medical insurance billing under the oversight of the HR Manager.
- Process department credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with government reporting and HR compliance reporting as training and experience increase.
- Support payroll and benefits projects as assigned.
- Initiate workers' compensation claims.
- Prepare employee packets and required authorization forms.
- Coordinate claim documentation and maintain claim records.
- Communicate with employees and supervisors regarding required paperwork.
- Assist with claim follow-up and documentation requests.
- Cross-train in Human Resources functions to build knowledge and support department continuity.
- Provide backup support for other HR team members during absences, peak workloads, or changing operational needs.
- Assist with department projects, process improvements, and special assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1-2 years of administrative, office, customer service, or Human Resources experience preferred.
- Associate’s degree in Business, HR or related field preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered
- Previous experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, or employee administration is preferred.
- Experience using HRIS systems or applicant tracking systems preferred;
Paycom experience is a plus. - Experience in a church, nonprofit, educational, or ministry environment preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work, particularly in payroll and compliance-related tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, supervisors, and leadership.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
