Summary:
The Network and Telecommunications Engineer is a hands-on technical specialist responsible for the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of enterprise voice and network systems across Marin Health. This role leads support of Cisco Unified Communications platforms-including CUCM, Unity (CUC), UCCX, CER, CIMP, and Informacast-while also contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of a secure, scalable network infrastructure.
Working closely with sr engineers and IT teams, this position supports a complex network environment leveraging Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, and Arista technologies across hospital and clinic locations. Responsibilities include managing enterprise voice services, maintaining paging and local telephony systems, and providing Tier 2/3 support for escalated network and telephony issues.
The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Cisco collaboration tools, network architecture, VLAN segmentation, and routing protocols, as well as physical infrastructure support such as cabling and device installations. This individual also serves as a technical resource and mentor, partners cross-functionally to optimize user experience and clinical workflows, and ensures compliance with healthcare standards.
This is an on-site position based in Greenbrae, California, with participation in a 24×7 on-call rotation to support operational continuity and service excellence.

Essential Functions:
Job Specifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
Minimum 7+ years of hands-on networking experience, including close collaboration with systems architects and network administrators.
Minimum 5+ years of experience administering and troubleshooting Cisco Unity, CUCM, UCCX, CER, Cisco phone system management consoles, and attendant consoles.
Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting network administrators with wiring and cabling needs, as well as replacing and troubleshooting physical phone installations.
Experience in healthcare or other regulated environments preferred.
License and
Certifications:
Technical certifications preferred (such as CCNA, CISSP, etc.)
Experience
Expertise in Cisco Platforms:
Advanced administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of Cisco Unity, CUCM, UCCX, CER, and attendant consoles.
Enterprise Network Architecture:
Ability to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable network infrastructures, including both physical and logical configurations.
Physical Infrastructure Support:
Skilled in supporting network administrators with wiring and cabling needs, as well as replacing and troubleshooting physical phone installations. Technical Problem Solving:
Proven capability to serve as a technical resource for escalated service desk tickets, providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for complex network and telephony issues.
Collaboration and Communication:
Ability to work closely with IT operations, systems engineers, and clinic staff to optimize user experience, uphold security standards, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Leadership and Mentorship:
Experience leading and mentoring technical support team members, fostering professional development and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Skills & Qualifications
5 days onsite. Could have some off hours. 8am-5pm or could be 9-6pm.
Cisco Phone exp, managing phones, Analog tracing. It's a level 2 role.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $112000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
