The Opportunity
Join our dynamic team as a Lead Network Engineer and play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing robust network solutions that empower global organizations, like the Navy, to meet their evolving requirements. Your technical expertise and proactive planning will ensure our networks efficiently support critical missions.
As a Lead Network Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Program Management Office, providing top-tier network architecture design and operational support. Your responsibilities will include establishing network requirements, developing technical solutions, and performing comprehensive solution analyses. You'll also analyze and design enterprise migration and implementation plans for data centers, remote access connections, and network services.
In this role, you will deliver Tier III network support, troubleshooting and resolving network issues, and ensuring the continuity of operational communications systems. Additionally, you will identify potential network inefficiencies and implement automated solutions to enhance network performance.
Working alongside subject matter experts in cybersecurity, engineering, and operations, you will gain insights into strategic goals that shape our network infrastructure. Your experience in enterprise network design and configuration will be invaluable as you lead the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of network components.
Key Responsibilities- Configure network devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Create network engineering artifacts such as templates, configuration guides, and diagrams.
- Analyze network protocols and ensure efficient communication across layers.
- Travel up to 30% to meet project requirements.
- Maintain a Secret security clearance and HS diploma or GED.
- Possess Security+ certification and Cisco certifications like CCNA or CCNP.
- Experience with Navy Enterprise Networks like NMCI, NGEN, ONE-Net, or CANES.
- Knowledge of software‑defined networking and network automation.
- Familiarity with networking tools such as Solar Winds and Network Access Control solutions like Forescout or Cisco ISE.

Salary is determined by various factors, including location and individual qualifications.
