The Computer Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Edwards, CA. This position is responsible for monitoring and operating computer systems and peripheral equipment, including running scheduled jobs, verifying successful completion, and escalating issues according to established procedures. The Computer Operator performs data entry and back-office processing, updates logs and documentation, and ensures accurate and timely handling of electronic records.
Daily tasks include troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues, following security and access control guidelines, and coordinating with technical and functional teams to resolve processing exceptions. The role also involves communicating status updates clearly, adhering to operational checklists, and supporting continuous improvement of system operations and workflows.
- Strong computer operations skills, including monitoring systems, running batch processes, and working with standard operating procedures.
- Back office operations experience, such as data entry, record maintenance, and documentation of daily activity.
- Solid computer literacy with proficiency in common operating systems, office productivity software, and basic troubleshooting.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, reporting issues, and documenting system events.
- Accurate typing skills with attention to detail and consistent data quality.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical coursework or certifications in IT or computer operations are preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Edwards, CA, follow security and compliance requirements, and support shift or extended hours as mission needs require.
- Previous experience in a federal, defense, or mission-critical environment is beneficial.
