Technical Program Manager – Data Engineering & Data Governance Exp Remote

Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Program Manager to lead complex data engineering and data governance initiatives across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional program management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business stakeholders and engineering teams. This role will be responsible for driving the delivery of scalable data platforms, implementing governance frameworks, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful execution of enterprise data programs in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end technical programs focused on data engineering, data integration, and data governance.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define program roadmaps, priorities, and delivery plans.
- Manage cross-functional engineering teams and ensure timely delivery of program milestones.
- Drive implementation of data governance processes, data quality standards, metadata management, and data stewardship practices.
- Coordinate data integration initiatives across enterprise source systems including:
- Salesforce (CRM)
- Workday (ERP)
- Oversee data ingestion and ETL pipelines using Fivetran and workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow.
- Support the implementation of a semantic/governance layer using AtScale to enable trusted, governed analytics.
- Identify and manage technical dependencies, risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and program tracking using Jira.
- Communicate program status, risks, and executive updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive collaboration across Data Engineering, Analytics, Architecture, Product, and Business teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Data Engineering Program Management, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of modern data engineering architectures and data platform concepts.
- Experience managing enterprise data programs involving:
- CRM systems (Salesforce)
- ERP systems (Workday)
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- Apache Airflow
- Fivetran
- Data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
- Data governance frameworks
- AtScale or similar semantic/governance platforms
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies with hands-on experience using Jira.
- Proven ability to manage technical teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing enterprise data governance or master data management initiatives.
- Familiarity with data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics platforms.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise digital transformation programs.
- PMP, Scrum Master, or Agile certifications are a plus.
