Computer Systems Coordinator Positions
We have an exciting opportunity for two Computer Systems Coordinator positions located at our campuses in San Jacinto, CA and Temecula, CA. Under the direction of the Supervisor, Technology Support Services or designee, the Computer Systems Coordinator for maintaining and coordinating the District's endpoint computing systems. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, security, and optimal performance of the District's endpoint computing resources.
Incumbents personally perform difficult and responsible computing functions that may involve the analysis, engineering, design and maintenance of end user compute devices. The Computer Systems Coordinator will work closely with other IT staff and faculty to support the educational and administrative functions of the District. Conditions of employment
- This position serves District-Wide; applicants may be assigned to any district facility. Work hours and worksite locations are subject to change depending on department needs.
- This position is categorically funded and exists based on the availability of funds. If funds cease to be available, the District may, at its discretion, implement a reduction in force that could result in the elimination of the position.
- A six-month probationary period must be successfully completed before the selected candidate is considered a permanent employee of the district.

- Administer, configure, and maintain desktop and mobile computing workstations and other endpoint computing resources
- Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to ensure optimal uptime
- Perform regular system updates and patches
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, students and other MSJC community members
- Install and maintain hardware, software and client images
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards
- Implement and enforce security best practices to protect against cybersecurity incidents
- Assist in regular security assessments and audits
- Balance security practices with effective learning/working environments
- Create and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures
- Provide training to end users on IT-related topics as needed
- Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments
- Perform preventative maintenance; configuration, troubleshooting and repair of client computer and related equipment
- Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies pertinent to the college
- Research and secure quotations of equipment, software and hardware
- Consult staff and students within the college as needed regarding safe and standard operation of client computer systems
- May perform functions related to leading the work of technical staff
- Effectively communicate, orally and in writing; with faculty, students, administrators, and staff to coordinate successful completion of projects
Skills and Abilities
The incumbent should possess knowledge of:
- Principles, practices and methods in: techniques in the design, installation and operation of computer equipment, devices and cabling; systems administration and hardware maintenance; theory and principles of computer hardware and enterprise deployment; computer operating systems and their configurations; software deployment automation; theory and principles of data architecture and network design; client-server processing requirements
The incumbent should possess skills in:

- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others, including those from a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff
