Our Specialty Aviation business helps clients navigate the unique risks of a fast-moving global industry. With more than 70 years of aviation expertise, we provide tailored insurance solutions for a wide range of aviation clients, from aircraft operators and airports to manufacturers and airlines, helping them minimize risk and maximize safety.
Working alongside experienced underwriters, claims professionals, attorneys, and risk specialists, you will help deliver innovative coverage solutions and exceptional client service. Supported by a global network spanning many countries and jurisdictions, Specialty Aviation professionals combine deep industry knowledge and technical expertise to help clients navigate complex challenges and keep their operations moving forward with confidence.
AIG's Summer Interns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company. During the 9-week program, you will gain valuable, hands-on experience and insurance industry knowledge, working with leaders on dynamic projects, with plenty of opportunity for challenges, learning and achievement.
Summer Interns join one of our key business teams, which offers a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment. In addition to meaningful on-the-job experiences, interns will join instructor-led masterclasses, hear directly from senior leaders, and build meaningful connections through mentoring circles, networking events and volunteering.
Following completion of the internship program, interns may be considered for a role in the location where they completed their internship, with the Analyst program beginning in July 2028.
Responsibilities- Support the evaluation and underwriting of aviation risks across areas such as aircraft operators, airports, manufacturers, and airlines.
- Review underwriting submissions, exposure information, loss history, and other relevant data to support risk selection, pricing, and coverage decisions.
- Partner with experienced underwriters, claims professionals, attorneys, and risk specialists to develop tailored insurance solutions.
- Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business and renewal opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging aviation risks to support informed underwriting decisions.
- Develop technical knowledge of aviation insurance while building analytical, decision-making, and relationship-management skills.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcript required upon application).
Program Requirements
- Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
- Summer Intern positions are in-person opportunities, requiring interns to work in the office at least four days per week.
