The Electronic Components Commodities Manager develops and manages the supply chain for all components of the corporate supply base, including semiconductors, passives, interconnect, and discrete commodities. Work with plants and the corporate team to achieve corporate objectives. Develop a commodity plan that includes supply base requirements, goals, objectives, and cost targets. Develop global supply sources to meet quality, delivery, and cost requirements.

Execute the commodity plan throughout the supply base. Selected candidate must be a subject matter expert in all aspects of electronic components.

Essential Job Elements

• Manage all aspects of the electronic components supply chain, including involvement in establishing contracts and purchase order strategy
• Manage contract awards with the supply base, contract uploads, and pricing discrepancies
• Negotiate contracts to meet the long-range quality, delivery and cost targets.
• Be the business focal point on cross-functional commodity teams when assessing suppliers, as well as executing the business plan for assigned commodities.
• Perform periodic business reviews with key suppliers.
• Mitigate and expedite material shortages on behalf of Client plants
• Manage the supply base to meet commodity objectives

• Technical Knowledge – Candidate must have detailed knowledge of electronic parts manufacturing and materials usage and cost. This will include being current on industry technology, trends, key suppliers and individuals, and cost drivers.
• Communication – Develop, articulate and implement an effective commodity management plan.
• Planning and Analyzing Skills – Demonstrate a probing, analytical approach to problem solving.
• Interpersonal Skills – Foster excellent relationships and credibility quickly at all levels of the organization and display an ability to create a partnership atmosphere with internal and external resources while achieving objectives.
• Assurance of Supply – Responsible for overall continuity of supply and active risk mitigation. Work with plants to resolve quality, delivery, capacity and other issues as required.

• 10+ years of supply base management, especially in electronics commodity management.
• Experience dealing with OEM manufacturers and Electronics Distribution Supply Base
• Related experience in Purchasing, Contract Management, Supplier Management, and Commodity Management is desirable.
• Strong MS Excel skills are preferred. MS Access experience desirable.
• BS/BA degree preferred; MBA desirable.
• EMS experience desirable.
