Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Operator I monitors and maintains boilers, hot water generators, and supporting systems. This role involves performing operations, maintenance, installation, or repairs in areas such as plumbing, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, carpentry, painting, or vehicle servicing.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a related position is preferred.
- Five to seven years of experience in utilities, with knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing utility equipment and systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to use computer programs for process control.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding English instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt to new responsibilities.
- Knowledge of current utilities standards, regulations, and laws.
- Willingness to serve on a 24-hour emergency on-call rotation if required.
- Ability to respond to emergency calls and work extended hours as needed.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass drug and background checks.
- Working towards or holding the necessary certifications and licenses required by the site.
