Junior Custodian

Overview

The Town of Natick's Facilities Department is looking for a full time School Custodian (Junior I) for afternoons Monday-Friday, 1:00 pm–9:30 pm. The position is intended for candidates who are hard working, ambitious, and committed to working in a team environment.

• Responsible for all custodial operations in assigned buildings, including scheduled and emergency cleaning, functions, and maintenance operations.
• Substitutes for Junior Custodian II as needed.
• Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties, including but not limited to: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, washing, waxing, carpet cleaning, dusting, polishing, and window cleaning.
• Trash removal and recycling (if applicable) as assigned. Snow removal may be required, on and off shift.
• Assist in boiler operation, light bulb replacement, minor preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery and systems (lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.), minor painting, plumbing, heating unit repair, carpentry, locker and lock repair, furniture repair and glide maintenance, exterior grounds maintenance and mowing.
• Assist in the movement of furniture, equipment or machinery as required. Perform roof drain clearing and maintenance. All other duties as assigned.

• Ability to work in a standard building environment including walking, standing, bending and climbing stairs (up to three stories).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 75 pounds.
• Able to climb and work on ladders.

Starting rate is $22.0558 per hour.
