Head Lift Operator

Afriski Mountain Resort invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the positions of a Head Lift Operator at its Site at Mahlasela Pass.

You will:

• Be Head Lift operator of all Small Surface Lifts.
• Will Assist Slope manager in Communication and translating workloads and Lift Information.
• Will train new staff on Lifts and basics of operating.
• Will Train Staff on Morning checks and Routines.
• Will train Staff on Shutdowns and Area feedback When slope close.
• Understand the dangers involved with Surface Lift Equipment and operations
• Will Operator Lifts with Safety and well Being of guests in Mind.
• Will Attend weekly Safety and First Aid training.
• Fill in Daily head Lift operations check List.
• Ensure that all Lift stations are filling in logs Daily.
• Fill in Routines Daily for head Lift operations.
• Ensure all Lift stations are completing Routines.
• Lift Status Call to Slope manager at every morning to announce all Lift current status.
• Ensure to give Information to Slope manager about lifts and grooming needs.
• Release the cable after moving for grooming.
• Make sure Safety’s in place and Correctly Installed.
• Test that there is Power to lift.
• Ensure Safety’s work by testing/ Pulling out.
• Ensure Lift tracks are usable and in Emergency’s Request Grooming if needed.
• Ensure getting on / off Points are in Good Condition for Lift users.
• During Day ensure Lift Getting on/off Points are maintained.
• Inform Ski patrol If assistance required.
• Report any bad Slope Conduct to Ski patrol.

• Basic verbal and written Communication skills in English and at least 1 African language.
• Good hearing.
• Must be prepared to undergo a hearing test on request.
• Good listening skills to understand and carry out instructions correctly and accurately.
• Ability to carry out work per standards and routines.
