Overview

Responsible for overall management and operation of a branch. They ensure the branch runs smoothly and efficiently while providing excellent customer service to members.

Responsibilities
  • Relationship Manager
    :
    Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential members, engage in networking, attend community events, and seek new business opportunities. Ensure credit union products meet member needs and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Personnel Management
    :
    Supervise and manage branch staff, including recruitment, training, performance management, and scheduling. Provide leadership and motivation to achieve high-quality service.
  • Compliance and Security
    :
    Ensure branch complies with all banking regulations and security policies. Implement security measures such as cameras, alarms, & access controls; oversee KYC, AML, BSA compliance.
  • Financial Competency
    :
    Understand financial products and analyze financial statements. Oversee branch financial performance, develop strategies to increase revenue and reduce costs, and maintain budgetary constraints.
  • Goal Achievement
    :
    Set and achieve branch goals, including revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Develop & implement strategies, monitor progress, and report to senior management.
Performance Measurements

In summary, a Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management and operation of a branch, with a focus on relationship management, personnel management, compliance and security, financial competency, and achieving goals. They ensure efficient operation, provide excellent customer service, and meet or exceed financial targets.

Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent; additional coursework in business or finance preferred.
  • Understanding of the Credit Union’s field of membership and philosophy, services, and products.
  • Leadership experience and ability to perform supervisory functions.
  • At least 3‑5 years of management experience (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Well organized and able to conduct workflow efficiently.
  • Proficiency with related computer applications and business equipment.
Physical & Mental Requirements
  • TALKING:
    Frequently convey detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • AVERAGE HEARING:
    Able to hear normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • REPETITIVE MOTION:
    Frequent use of wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES:
    Ordinary visual acuity to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery.
  • PHYSICAL STRENGTH:
    Sedentary work; sitting most of the time; occasional exertion up to 10 lbs.
  • REASONING ABILITY:
    Apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • MATHEMATICS ABILITY:
    Compute discounts, interest, profit, loss, commission markup, selling price, ratio, proportion, percentage, and perform basic algebra.
  • LANGUAGE ABILITY:
    Read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias. Prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to punctuation, grammar, diction, and style. Conduct training, present at panel discussions, and make professional presentations.
