Location: Chicago ParkDirector of Ski and Ride School
The Director position is responsible for leading the Ski and Ride School and will include the following responsibilities: program growth and development, recruiting, motivating, and training staff, developing, and following a financial plan, developing and implementing a risk management plan and demonstrating passion and enthusiasm for the sport. This leadership role is critical to the successful growth and development of the company.

General Responsibilities
Hires, motivates, evaluates, and directs staff to ensure adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established departmental goals and objectives. Ensures that all employees receive the training, support, guidance, feedback, and resources necessary to achieve departmental success.Directs the establishment of departmental standards, guidelines, objectives, and operations plans and maintains other administrative processes such as budgeting and staffing to ensure proper planning, efficient operation of departments and successful achievement of resort goals.Maintains and enhances the guest focused culture in all areas of responsibility.Maintains schedules in compliance with departmental objectives; manages responsibilities in compliance with resort safety policies.Maintains current knowledge on legal issues and technological advances, which impact the industry and applies knowledge to better the quality of programs. Maintains awareness of scope and progress of competition and applies knowledge to benefit department programs.Effective and appropriate communication skills in alignment with company culture with all levels of employees, guests, and all other outside contacts.Effectively manage multiple priorities at any given time.Familiarity with applicable state and federal labor standards and regulations and the ability to manage departmental compliance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Management of Ski & Ride School, Adult and Children's programs, Teams programs, teaching areas, seasonal programs, and training programs.Ability to delegate responsibility, motivate and lead direct reports to achieve goals and objectives.Ability to move around all areas of the mountain and base facilities at all times of the year.Assist and support the Front Desk and guest services staff with private lessons and lesson packages to promote and complete sales and reservations.Creation and pricing of all lesson and programs with the approval of the General Manager. Work closely with the Marketing Department on the promotion of approved programs.Oversee the inventory and maintenance of all equipment and uniforms necessary to maintain the standards set forth by the resort.Work closely with all Managers to maintain and improve resort's quality of experience for its guests.Actively promote safe skiing/snowboarding by educating the staff and public as to the "Your Safety Responsibility Code" and common-sense rules of skiing/snowboarding.Responsibilities to Safety:
- Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and guests, always.
- Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the Risk Manager and Resort Operations Director without delay.
- Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to the Risk Manager and General Manager.
- Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
- Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
- Drive in accordance with the law and Fleet Safety Program.
- Have the ability to effectively control and coordinate staff in an emergency.
