The Coyote Valley Band of Pomo Indians(“Tribe”) is a federally-recognized Indian Tribe located in Redwood Valley, Mendocino County, California. The Coyote Valley Reservation(“Reservation”) is 120 miles north of San Francisco and seven miles north of the town of Ukiah. The rural community of Redwood Valley is in the heart of California’s wine country, nestled among rolling hills of oak trees and vineyards.

The beautiful Mendocino Coast is a fifty-mile drive west, and the famous “Avenue of the Giants” Redwood National Forest is a two-hour drive north on Highway 101. Lake Mendocino is a short five-mile drive south, and Clearlake is a twenty-five-mile drive southeast.

The Tribe operates several governmental departments, including tribal police, education, health, housing, social services, recreation, and environmental protection. In addition, the Tribal Government operates a Tribal administration complex that provides administrative support, accounting and fiscal accountability, and human resources functions for the Tribe. The Tribe also maintains a learning center, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, and parks.

Our tribal corporations own two gaming facilities, a convenience store and gas station, and a hotel. The tribe's purpose is to reach total economic self-sufficiency, enhancing the quality of life of our Tribal members while making positive contributions to the greater community.

The Facilities Director is responsible for the overall management and operation of the Facilities Department, including the maintenance, acquisition, replacement, and stewardship of Tribal facilities, housing, lands, grounds, and utility systems. This position oversees daily facilities and housing operations, departmental staff, asset management, maintenance programs, safety compliance, and long-range planning to ensure Tribal properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained. The Facilities Director develops and administers departmental budgets, advises Tribal Administration on facility and housing needs, and identifies funding opportunities to support departmental goals.

The position is responsible for the development, implementation, administration, compliance, and reporting of facilities and housing grants, programs, and services, and serves as the primary liaison with federal, state, local, and Tribal agencies regarding facilities and housing matters. Additionally, the Facilities Director serves as the Housing Director and Government Landlord for all Tribal residences, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, program requirements, and Tribal housing policies while supporting the long-term sustainability of Tribal facilities and housing resources.
