General Labor Positions – Fontana Wood Products

Banding, wrapping, grading, and stacking materials in one or more departments throughout the manufacturing facility. This position is part of the general labor pool and not specific to a department.

• Sort and stack lumber off of machine centers, including grading, cleaning, wrapping, banding, and tagging.
• Band, wrap, and ensure final quality of product before preparing items for shipping.
• Understand required grade/quality and inspect finished products for quality standards.
• Observe and promote all safety policies and procedures.
• Operate additional equipment related to production.
• Report production accurately through utilized programs.
• Report work progress to Production Management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Basic knowledge of lumber grading.
• Basic math as it relates to lumber.
• Basic understanding of technology for the operation of electronics for inventory.

Consistently lift 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds. Ninety percent of the work is performed in an environment subject to weather, noise, and dust.
