JOB TITLE:
SAF DRIVER JOB SUMMARY
The SAF Driver employee is responsible for ensuring proper sanitation in the Water Plant area. Performs hygienic roles within the facility to ensure cleanliness standards are in place and enforced. The SAF Driver employee will mainly focus on a specific area as instructed by the Water Plant Lead and rotate between areas as needed. As a SAF Driver employee you will be responsible for daily break down and sanitizing of some equipment on the production floor.
The SAF Driver employee must be able to work independently near moving machinery in a safe manner in order to remove matter.
- Use loader to mix mud and unload pumice
- Wash out tank and clean on truck wash
- Visually inspects equipment for proper cleanliness
- Effectively keeps Wet Waste area clean and surrounding areas audit ready at all times
- Uses shovel to pick up tomatoes and/or pumice
- Performs housekeeping practices such as picking up debris, rolling water hose after each use and placing shovels in designated places
- Ensure break times are always adhered to
- Performs Forklift/tractor/truck Preoperational Check using the required form prior to assuming duties of your shift – no exceptions
- Use water truck for dust control activities or wash down warehouse
- Clean screens in water plant
- Help wash out vacuum tank
- Dump trash and organic waste hoppers with forklift
- Review SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) to ensure accuracy.
- Wash loader at the end of day
- Keep wash rack clean by the end of the day.
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for reporting any problems with the Food Safety Quality Management System with your direct supervisor. Authority to initiate and record Corrective Actions.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Will be trained by the company on Chemical Safety & Handling
- Must be able to perform duties on any shift
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and stoop as needed
- Ability to walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, hear, smell, and work long hours
- Truck driving experience
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to communicate with all supervision and peers
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry detailed and written or oral instructions Ability to read, understand and follow the safety and directions for various chemicals and chemical compounds used during sanitation duties
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance, uses hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials. This job also requires lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pulling to complete tasks throughout the shift.
The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to vibration and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
This position will be exposed to high varying temperatures and may include a wet and slippery environment with a loud noise.
Los Gatos Tomato Products requires all individuals to wear the appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as required by the role and location.
