Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Manufacturing Engineer

Skyworks is looking for a hands-on technician to join our Newbury Park Equipment Engineering Team supporting the Fab and Final Process areas. Responsibilities include dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment according to schematics, blueprints, drawings, and operating or repair manuals. The role involves performing preventive and routine maintenance and repairs on semiconductor manufacturing equipment following work instructions and manufacturer manuals. The technician will follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to all production equipment in a specific area.
Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical production equipment used in the Fab is also required. The technician will perform set-up, calibration, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, rebuild and repair manufacturing equipment as required, and perform equipment modifications as directed by Equipment Engineering. Complex assignments requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations to the Engineering community are part of the role.

Required experience and skills include an associate degree in Electronics Technology (or similar discipline), or a HS diploma with equivalent years of experience. Minimum of 6 years' experience in a production and/or fast-paced environment is required. Experience with common hand tools as well as various electronic instruments is necessary. Ability to lift heavy objects, such as pumps during removal and installation, is required.
Must pass respiratory protection medical surveillance examination. In-depth knowledge, understanding, and support of manufacturing process are essential. Self-starter ability and the capability to work with minimal supervision are required. Ability to work overnight and compressed shifts is necessary.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $37.36 - $65.38 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
