Salary Range: $24.11 – $25.46 hourly (after 90‑day probationary period; overtime and weekends may be required)
Shift: 3rd Shift 10pm – 6:30am;
Shift Differential $0.50 per hour
The Finished Oil Operator focuses on the quality and quantity of clarified citrus oils. Responsibilities include basic math: multiplication, division, ratio, fractions, and percentages.
Primary Responsibilities- Food Safety is a shared responsibility; all employees must be aware of their CCPs, document them appropriately, and report problems to the immediate supervisor.
- Operate clarified oil processing systems for lemon, orange, tangerine, and grapefruit oils.
- Pay great attention to detail when building a cake on the vacuum filter.
- Inspect the new drum interior with a flashlight before filling.
- Set aside and report defective drums.
- Pack oil in new drums to accurate weight.
- Write down item number, lot number, and drum number on the color‑code tag and attach it to the drum.
- When oil is transferred from one tank to another, decant/tap off any water/oil before the transfer.
- Record on the batch card the number of pounds of oil displayed on the load cells before transferring.
- Transfer oil from one tank to another without losing any oil to the drain.
- Document all clarified oil production in the CitrOS/Sage system.
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
- Dispose of hazardous waste properly.
- Promote quality and alert the supervisor of any non‑standard conditions.
- Follow safety rules and wear proper PPE; wear a mask when building a cake on the vacuum filter to protect against diatomaceous earth and dust.
- Operate the De STILL optimally when processing diatomaceous earth and when making folded oils.
- Conduct CIP of the De STILL.
- Process and submit oil batches to the Shipping Department for closing.
- Follow all personal hygiene and GMP practices.
- Act professionally toward coworkers, customers, visitors, and vendors.
- Show reliable attendance, consistent punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisor.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficient in basic math calculations (division, fractions, ratios, percentages).
- Valid forklift license or ability to obtain one.
- 80% of the employee’s time will be standing or walking.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Occasional exposure to caustic chemicals such as diatomaceous earth and DE, loud noise, and wet/humid conditions.
- Occasional use of a step ladder.
- Forklift operation required.
- Occasional use of respirators required.
