As a Chemical Operator at PPG Mojave, CA plant, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. You will report to a Production Supervisor. Your work will directly affect people’s lives!

• Ability and willingness to adjust to change and to be assigned to any production area in the department or work on other non-production-related tasks.

• Start up and stop equipment.
• Take and follow instructions from supervisors. Able to follow documented step-by-step instructions and accurately document completion of each step.
• Work with equipment following set safety procedure, including working with hazardous chemicals, laboratory, and other devices.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform basic quality and process checks.

• Able to work in any area of the department.
• Manually lift to 50 LBS.
• Flexible to be pulled from one job to the next and then go back to first job as needed.
• Able to work using a respirator. For men, must be clean shaven to wear PPE (respirator).
• Able to climb fixed ladders, portable ladders, extension ladders.
• Able to work overtime as necessary.
• Able to stand/sit for long periods and frequently use stairs, catwalks, and ladders.
