Composite Epoxy Technician
KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Composite Epoxy Technician in Foothill Ranch, Ca. Position Overview The Composite Epoxy Technician is responsible for assembling, bonding, molding, and testing electromechanical components and systems with a focus on epoxy applications, plastic molding, vacuum pump integration, and fiberglass fabrication. This role supports production operations by ensuring high-quality assembly, structural integrity, and compliance with engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with blueprints, templates, sample parts, and process sheets.
- Assist in the preparation of molds and forms.
- Route, drill, trim, and sand parts to blueprint dimensions and tolerances.
- Prepare surfaces and paint composite components.
- Apply spray coatings using a high-volume low-pressure spray gun.
- Mix and pour epoxy resins into molds for transformer coils and components, ensuring proper degassing and vacuum pressure.
- Inspect finished castings for defects, such as voids or cracks, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Assist in the development of shop aids for fabrication, trimming, and assembly.
- Maintain quality control records and ensure a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working with epoxy systems, adhesives, and composite materials
- Familiarity with composites, manufacturing, layup, lamination, and blueprints.
- Experience with vacuum bagging/mold casting, fabrication, prepreg, and carbon fiber.
- Proficiency in using hand tools like hand drills, scissors, and electric heat guns.
- Experience with measuring instruments such as scales, calipers.
- Strong work ethic and stability in previous roles.
- Respirator certification may be required
- Ability to work extended hours and lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
