AboutThe Role
We are looking for an experienced Conventional/Manual Machinist to join our Operations team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on machining and is comfortable working with manual lathes, mills, and other shop equipment.
You will be responsible for setting up and operating manual machining equipment to produce, repair, and restore industrial components while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
What You'll Do- Set up and operate manual engine lathes, mills, drill presses, and related equipment.
- Machine shafts, bushings, sleeves, flanges, and other industrial components.
- Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading, grooving, and other machining operations.
- Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining methods.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
- Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and bore gauges.
- Perform independent setups and work with steady rests, tail stocks, fixtures, and other support equipment.
- Machine both new components and parts requiring repair or restoration.
- Safely handle large and heavy components using cranes and other material‑handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Work with the team to ensure parts meet quality and customer requirements.
- 5+ years of conventional/manual machining experience preferred.
- Experience operating manual engine lathes and/or mills.
- Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with large industrial components or rotating equipment is a plus.
Pay: $28–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
Overtime/Weekends:
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs.
