AIRTEC, an international aviation company, is currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Financial Manager to work at our corporate headquarters located in California, MD. The selected candidate will be supporting our accounting and contracts departments by performing a number of financial activities. The successful candidate will be organized and will be able to communicate effectively. Qualified candidates are required to have a current CPA or are currently working towards one.
The Senior Financial Manager is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with a number of financial activities. All new accounting assignments for the company start with this lead manager and may be distributed to junior accountant staff to assist with duties. Help to evaluate accountant staff from an accounting perspective. Must be organized and can communicate effectively, both orally and writing.
This position requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and be flexible in terms of scope and maneuverability of the role.
- Oversee the preparation of the Company’s financial statements including assisting with preparing and reviewing month end adjusting journal entries and approving purchase requests, reconciling accounts and participating in the month-end close process.
- Assist in the chart of accounts and financials set up in Costpoint to ensure accordance with GAAP.
- Support annual and interim US GAAP financial audits.
- Prepare and provide management with regular reports and summaries.
- Support Internal Compliance Reviews.
- Track and manage the leases.
- Train as back up timesheet administrator.
- Train as back up administrator for payroll and travel functions within the organization from ADP to Costpoint and Concur.
- Maintain an effective cash management system.
Coordinate and engage with all external professional services including tax, legal and other service providers. - Ensure compliance with the Company’s financial policies and procedures.
- Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting function.
- Improve the operational systems, processes policies in support of organization’s mission.

- Must have good analytical skills and a sound understanding of GAAP.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Deltek Costpoint and ADP is a plus.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA or currently working to obtain CPA license in the near term.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience. Public accounting experience is preferred.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, multi-function printers and smartphones.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
