The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. The CFO will lead the organization’s financial strategy and functions including accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), risk management, and maintain regulatory compliance within a government contracting environment, including Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.
The CFO is responsible for maintaining the organization’s financial integrity while enabling growth and competitiveness in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Partner with the President to develop and execute the company’s long‑term strategic plan.
- Provide financial insights to support decision‑making, growth initiatives, and new business opportunities.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month and year‑end process, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset reconciliations, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning processes.
- Monitor cash flow, profitability, and financial performance metrics.
- Provide financial leadership across departments, ensuring alignment with contracting, program management, including payroll and federal and state taxes.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and develop financial reports and presentations for executive leadership, investors, and government stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles to ensure audit readiness for DCAA, DCMA and other government entities.
- Oversee and manage DCAA‑compliant accounting systems, ensuring adherence to FAR, DFARS, and CAS regulations.
- Oversee incurred cost submissions, forward pricing rate proposals, and audit readiness.
- Serve as a primary contact for DCAA, DCMA, and external auditors during pre‑award, post‑award, and incurred cost audits.
- Collaborate with program managers to monitor contract performance, cost control, and profitability.
- Partner with contracts, procurement, and operations teams to develop pricing strategies, cost controls, and financial policies.
- Support pricing strategies, bid proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure alignment between financial planning and program execution.
- Manage Indirect Rate Management, including Overhead, G&A, and Cost Pool allocations, ensuring accuracy in ICE submissions.
