We have an opening for an X-Ray Limited Scope Technician to provide radiographic and other diagnostic imaging and assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients.

Employees in this role will provide x-ray services to patients and assist clinical staff with other needs. We are looking for someone with a high level of attention to detail, a courteous demeanor, and strong communication skills.

The X-Ray Limited Scope Technician performs routine x‑ray, medical, and testing procedures under the direct supervision of the treating clinician as well as support in other areas of the facility as needed including registration and referral management. This position will perform routine X‑ray examinations in accordance with Patriot Urgent Care policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one‑on‑one patient care while thriving in a fast‑paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures. Escort patients to dressing and x‑ray rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety and comfort during the x‑ray exam.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Position radiologic equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance according to specification of examination. Take x‑rays following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report on equipment malfunctions to Center Operations Director.
  • Ensure all Radiology workflows are followed, and all Radiology reports cross correctly to EMR. Follows documentation procedures and completes required documentation related to patient x‑ray visit.
  • Maintain all x‑ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping in accordance with current policy and procedures.
  • Perform clinical intake including but not limited to obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications & chief complaint, obtaining vital signs, and record information within the electronic medical record.
  • Explain treatment procedures and prepare patient and exam room for examination.
  • Assist physicians with procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiographs (EKG), audiogram, spirometry testing, and basic nursing functions.
  • Perform CLIA‑waived lab tests, collect labels, and process specimens for send‑out.
  • Document within the medical chart to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
  • Perform patient callbacks, arrange referrals and testing, and schedule follow‑up appointments.
  • Perform quality checks on medical equipment as directed and needed.
  • Assist registration staff and perform additional clerical duties as necessary.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • High school diploma
  • Completion of state approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and license by the state in which employed.
  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts and weekend hours as needed.
  • The ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate.
