Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines and data infrastructure. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about data technologies and eager to build scalable solutions that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Support data integration from multiple sources into centralized data platforms.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure data quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with data analysts, business intelligence teams, and software engineers.
- Perform data validation, cleansing, and transformation activities.
- Help maintain databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data environments.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for data processes and systems.
- Support data governance, security, and compliance initiatives.
- Optimize data processing performance and system efficiency.
- Participate in data engineering projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, software development, database management, or a related technical role.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Python, Java, Scala, or similar programming languages.
- Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and database concepts.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with data engineering tools such as Apache Spark, Airflow, Kafka, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
- Experience with Git and version control systems.
- Relevant certifications in cloud, database, or data technologies are a plus.
