Director of Engineering

Responsibilities:
For R&D:

• Create and run a world-class engineering organization out of Bangalore/India
• Own engineering velocity and product availability
• Liaison with CTO and CPO
• Constantly contextualize the team’s contribution to the bigger picture
• Stay at the pulse of Dev Sec Ops  market and technology
• Personally contribute to company and product strategy
• Personally contribute to Engineering solution design
• Assist the engineering teams in daily decisioning

• Establish a strong startup culture and sense of belonging amongst the staff
• Embody and expect a good balance between discipline and fun
• Foster office-wide collaboration, learning, awareness, and pride
• Help facilitate cross-functional initiatives and operational processes
• Build a reputation in Bangalore and create a long-term hiring pipeline
• Manage expenses and local vendors
• Help (as needed) to facilitate deals (via India outsource rs or other)
• Help (as needed) to grow/retain customers (via their off-shore locations)

• Experienced operating teams within SaaS startups and working with and hiring of Software Engineers
• Strong understanding of the needs the buyer personas in Enterprise IT and software development teams
• Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to excite and motivate large teams
• Experience with testing software (automation and/or manual) or coding software
• Experienced in task distribution, requirements engineering, vertical and horizontal slicing of ideas
• Experienced with software architecture patterns and common concepts
• Strong sense for the Bangalore/Indian talent market and how to be manage effective talent attraction and retention
• Not shy to get his/her own hands dirty with any task
• Strong knowledge of modern Software Engineering and Dev Ops practices in Cloud Environments
