Position Summary
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all clinical trial data management activities across the global development portfolio, ensuring delivery of high-quality, regulatory-compliant clinical datasets for submissions, publications, and decision-making, and defining enterprise-wide clinical data governance.
- Define and execute global Clinical Data Management (CDM) strategy across Phase I–IV trials.
- Lead end-to-end data management (CRF design, database build, edit check strategy, database lock).
- Oversee and mentor the Clinical Data Management team; indirectly lead Clinical Data Management Leaders across global operations.
- Own leadership-level talent management processes.
- Ensure quality, efficiency, and timeliness via resource allocation and prioritization.
- Establish global data standards/governance/quality systems aligned with GCP, FDA, EMA, and ICH.
- Oversee clinical data vendors (CROs, FSPs, external partners) for on-time, on-budget, quality delivery.
- Oversee data quality, lineage, traceability, and audit readiness; drive inspection readiness and audit support.
- Lead modernization (automation, AI-enabled data review, advanced clinical data platforms).
- Oversee CDM budget planning, resource forecasting, and vendor contracts.
- Hire, develop, and provide performance feedback to team members; collaborate on process/technology improvements.
- Ensure compliance with GCP, SOPs, and regulatory expectations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences or technical discipline (required).
- 12+ years in clinical data, clinical operations, or healthcare data systems (required).
- Strong enterprise data governance experience (required).
- Experience developing/managing direct and indirect teams (required); global team experience (preferred).
- EDC systems/CDMS platforms; SDTM/CDISC standards.
- Clinical research, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
- FDA/EMA inspection experience.
- Multi-study portfolio management; clinical data analytics/outcomes interpretation.
- Leadership and project management; critical/logical problem-solving.
- Discretionary bonus and equity award.
- National: $230,000–$253,000;
Premium (e.g., LA/San Diego/SF/NYC/Chicago/Boston): $260,000–$280,000.
