Location:
Southern Maryland Campus. During the school year: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:45 am–3:45 pm. During the summer: 30 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 7:45 am–3:15 pm.

OverviewThe Kennedy Krieger School Program offers services to children with learning challenges. Students aged 5–21 receive instruction focusing on academic, social, emotional, and behavioral skills, in an environment that recognizes and capitalizes on each child’s strengths.

- $2,000 for each eligible child through the age of 6; $600 for each child age 7–10
- Maintain a cumulative health record on each student.
- Develop individualized health care plans, emergency action plans, and bus plans as needed for students with special health concerns.
- Administer medications.
- Administer first aid and treat illnesses.
- Ensure all students are in compliance with Maryland state law for immunizations.
- Maintain and organize medical equipment and supplies for the school health suite.
- Assist with and/or provide annual hearing and vision screenings.
- Monitor height, weight, pulse, and blood pressure of designated students.
- Serve as liaison between family, school personnel, and health care providers.
- Participate in pre‑admission and annual team meeting or annual individual education plan meeting review for students with identified health needs.
- Participate on a nursing committee (attend 75% of meetings, or routinely complete an assigned task for the committee, or may serve as a co‑chair).
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN or enrollment in a BSN program to be completed within 2½ years of hiring date.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical/pediatric experience required and minimum of 1 year of school health experience required.
License: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license from Maryland or a compact state.
Certification: Current CPR certification that includes hands‑on skills.
Pay RangeMinimum pay range: USD $71,518.51 per year.
Maximum pay range: USD $ per year.
