Brief Description

  • Lead scientific team members on oncology assets from discovery through regulatory approval.
  • Manage the oncology pharmacology team and serve as lead on one or more programs.
  • Establish efficacy in relevant disease models, demonstrate differentiation vs. comparators, determine PK/PD/efficacy relationships, characterize mechanisms of action, and identify predictive models, indications, and biomarkers.
  • Design and execute studies aligned to clinically relevant priorities; support R&D and regulatory submissions (IND through NDA/BLA sections).
  • Design/execute (or oversee) experiments with CROs/in-house/academics; review clinical protocols; author/review technical and regulatory documentation; present research internally/externally.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional matrix teams and represent ORP on internal nonclinical strategies for hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.
Essential Functions
  • Design/execute experiments to elucidate efficacy, tolerability, MoA, and biomarkers across multiple modality combinations.
  • Critically evaluate biochemical/cellular assays; communicate across matrix teams; lead programs; mentor junior scientists.
  • Outsource/manage CRO studies, protocols, timelines, and budgets.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Ph.D. (biology/biochemistry/immunology/pharmacology or related); substantial oncology and immuno-oncology experience.
  • Deep preclinical oncology and Immuno-Oncology expertise (in vivo/in vitro models; immune cell biology; immunological endpoints).
  • Experience across small molecules, biologics, ADCs, bi-specifics, T cell engagers, cell/gene therapies, RNA therapeutics.
  • Strong understanding of nonclinical pharmacology/toxicology/DMPK/clinical pharmacology integration; cancer signaling pathways.
  • Experience leading multiple complex programs (GLP/non-GLP), designing biomarker strategies, and authoring nonclinical IND/NDA/BLA components.
  • People management and strong project management; proficiency with tools (e.g., Graph Pad Prism).
