The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Engineer to join our team, focused on autonomy software porting and integration.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually, based upon an individual's level of experience, skillset, and education. The range that is given is an estimate and may vary based on contractual constraints. At AM Pierce & Associates, it is our goal to provide equitable compensation to all employees.

The Description

The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and subject matter experts to port autonomy software from one baseline to another, ensuring the functionality and performance of the software remain consistent. This role is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career software engineers to gain experience in cutting-edge autonomy systems and software engineering practices.

Other Duties/Responsibilities
  • Assist in porting and developing autonomy software components from one software baseline to another, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Work with senior engineers to identify and resolve software issues that arise during the porting process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, system engineers, and data scientists, to support integration and testing efforts.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Utilize version control systems and continuous integration tools to manage code changes and ensure smooth deployment.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Active DoD secret clearance.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with software version control systems (e.g., Git) and development environments (e.g., Visual Studio, Eclipse).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn about software porting and autonomy systems.
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies and debugging tools is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired Skillset
  • Experience with robotics, unmanned systems, or autonomy software development.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including Agile methodologies.
  • Exposure to real-time operating systems (RTOS) or embedded systems.
Travel
  • On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
