We are seeking a passionate and skilled Donor Relations Manager to help build lasting connections with our supporters and drive major gifts in support of our mission. This pivotal public facing role requires exceptional interpersonal abilities, a deep commitment to our vision, and a love for philanthropy.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects to secure gifts for the Symphony.
- Lead donor appreciation efforts, including donor intermission lounges and green rooms.
- Collaborate with the Development committee to plan donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
- Research, cultivate, and solicit donors.
- In concert with the Director of Marketing, prepare the annual slate of solicitation materials for the annual appeal, musician sponsorship campaign, and Monterey County Gives.
- Attend Development committee meetings and provide after-action reports.
- Schedule meetings and document all donor interactions through detailed contact reports.
- Prepare and send thank-you/acknowledgment letters.
- Work with the Personnel manager on obtaining and stewarding housing donors; assist in the placement of musicians.
- Prepare and complete notification mailing of donor benefits to individuals according to their specific giving levels.
- Work with the board of directors as a liaison.
- Passion for the arts – knowledge of music a plus, but not necessary!
- 3+ years in nonprofit donor relations.
- Experience working with a constituent database program.
- Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skill with Microsoft Office suite of products.
- An ability to work independently.
- Proven experience securing major gifts.
- Commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Innovative and open-minded approach to new fundraising strategies.
- Goal-driven and results-oriented mindset.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an annual salary range of $71,000 to $79,000 DOE. Candidates without prior major gift fundraising experience will start at the lower end of the range, with opportunities for advancement upon achieving key milestones.
