Position Overview
The Local Travel LVN will provide direct nursing care to residents in a Skilled Nursing Facility, working closely with physicians, registered nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to residents in a skilled nursing and long-term care environment
- Administer medications, treatments, and injections according to physician orders
- Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and changes in health status
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized patient care plans
- Provide wound care, catheter care, and other clinical treatments as required
- Communicate effectively with physicians, RNs, CNAs, and other healthcare staff
- Educate residents and family members on care plans and health management
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies and state regulations
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards and patient safety protocols
- Support daily activities and ensure residents receive compassionate, respectful care
- Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited Vocational or Practical Nursing program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of recent LVN experience, preferably in a Skilled Nursing Facility or long-term care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Weekly pay up to $2,295 based on experience
- 13-week local travel contract with potential for extension
- Full-time schedule within a skilled nursing facility
