Job DescriptionSeeking a qualified NICU Nurse to provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role involves monitoring patients, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates requiring intensive medical intervention.
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and document findings accurately in electronic health records.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Educate and support families on infant care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Perform routine baby care, including routine labs, head-to-toe assessments, and skin-to-skin care.
- Equivalent to every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) plus 2 Fridays per 6‑week schedule.
- Open to accommodating block schedules per manager discretion.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to float between nursery role and baby transition nurse role as needed due to delivery volumes or high patient census.
- Experience with Epic charting system.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- 2 years of NICU experience.
- Experience providing routine baby care, including vital signs, head-to-toe assessments, skin-to-skin care, breastfeeding support, and routine labs.
- Neonatal assessment
- Medication administration

- Patient and family education
- Critical care nursing
- Ventilator management (if applicable based on facility needs)
- EPIC
- NICU
- Occasional need to float to Nursery/Baby Transition Nurse role.
- Neonates requiring intensive care.
- Yes, will float to nursery role and transition role when delivery volumes are high. Responsibilities include routine baby care, vitals, head to toe assessment, skin to skin, breastfeeding, routine labs.
- Not on‑call.
