Pain Management Nurse Practitioner
The Pain Management Nurse Practitioner (APRN) is a member of the Anesthesia Service who works under the direction of the APS Section Chief. The APRN collaborates with members of the Acute Pain Service (APS) team to evaluate, manage, and support patients with acute and acute on-chronic pain conditions. Duties for the position may include but are not limited to:
- Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions, with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
- Develops and implements individualized care plans to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
- Demonstrates leadership and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
- Orders and interprets laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and other relevant evaluations.
- Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
- Initiates referrals and provides consultative services to specialty providers as needed.
- Providing outpatient management of postoperative pain medications, including phone calls and clinic visits.
- Working closely with APS and CPS team members.

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Authorized:
This position is eligible for EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program.
