Clinical Nurse Manager – Operating Room (OR)
We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Clinical Nurse Manager – Operating Room to lead surgical nursing operations at Olive View – UCLA Medical Center, a 355-bed acute care teaching facility affiliated with the David Geffen School Of Medicine At UCLA.
In this role, you will oversee day-to-day clinical operations within the surgical department, ensuring smooth perioperative workflows, highest standards of patient safety, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical & Operational Leadership:
Manage daily surgical schedules, staff assignments, and room turnover in the Operating Room. - Quality & Safety Assurance:
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control guidelines within perioperative services. - Team Guidance & Supervision:
Support, mentor, and evaluate staff RNs, surgical techs, and ancillary perioperative personnel. - Interdisciplinary
Collaboration:
Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, department directors, and hospital leadership to optimize patient care and throughput. - Patient Advocacy:
Serve as an escalation point for clinical challenges, family concerns, or patient safety issues in the OR environment.
- Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master's (MSN) preferred. - Licensure:
Active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license. - Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of recent acute care OR nursing experience. Demonstrated charge nurse, supervisory, or clinical management experience in a surgical/perioperative setting. - Certifications
Required:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City certified), Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) or CPI certification. - Health Clearance:
