Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Nurse
Provides specialized critical care nursing to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), focusing on advanced cardiovascular treatments and post-operative recovery. Oversees nursing staff and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor the cardiovascular status of critically ill patients, collecting pertinent data.
- Develop and execute individualized care plans to support patient recovery and stability.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care and educate patients and families about treatment plans.
- Supervise and delegate duties to nursing staff, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Participate in discharge planning and ensure seamless continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of two years recent experience in critical care nursing, preferably in cardiovascular or open-heart recovery.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from approved vendors.
- Proven ability to manage complex cardiovascular cases and utilize critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
