Job Description:

Schedule: Full-Time Days

Shift: Monday - Friday with on-call requirements. Actual shift will depend on departmental needs at the completion of training.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide emotional support to patients and families, demonstrating Advent Health’s commitment to compassionate, whole-person care.
Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments and personnel.
Support surgical teams by preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies. Maintain sterility in the surgical field and anticipate the needs of surgeons and scrub techs.
Assist in specimen collection, labeling, and handling according to Advent Health policies.
Participate in counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) to ensure patient safety.
Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
Other duties as assigned.

EKG competency testing (based on patient population) [Required]

Education:

Associate's of Nursing [Required]
Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Work Experience:

1+ experience in a specialty area(s) [Preferred]
Prior exposure to surgical services is preferred

Licenses and

Certifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
