Labor & Delivery specialty
- Provide professional nursing care for obstetric patients in the L&D unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Monitor fetal wellbeing and labor progress; administer medications and assist with obstetric procedures; respond to obstetric emergencies within scope of practice.
- Coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care; collaborate with physicians, co-workers, and ancillary staff; participate in shared governance and quality initiatives.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC); maintain adherence to Standards of Nursing Practice and hospital policies.
- Support the LDRP care model and promote patient- and family-centered care; educate patients and families as appropriate.
- For orientation, nurses new to L&D will complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring during the first 6–8 months, followed by AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring every two years; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring is required on hire for experienced staff.

Graduate of a school of nursing (required) - Licenses:
Current RN license in the state of practice (California) (required) - Certifications:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification;
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS);
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire or transfer; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course required on hire and every two years; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring course required during first 6–8 months for novices - Experience:
One-year recent acute care RN experience (required) - Additional: EPIC experience is preferred

- Credentialing and onboarding coordination

- Potential assignment extensions based on performance and staffing needs
