Active California RN License required
Current CPR/BLS certification
ACLS required within 1 year of hire
2+ years of Med-Surg RN experience
Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a critical access hospital setting
Experience with medication administration and narcotic control
Basic arrhythmia interpretation skills
Blood transfusion experience
Ability to supervise LVNs and non-professional staff
Strong documentation and patient/family education skills
Must be willing to assist other departments when needed
Holiday coverage required
Perform comprehensive and ongoing patient assessments
Develop and implement individualized plans of care
Administer medications and physician-ordered treatments safely
Monitor patient conditions and report abnormal findings
Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient progress
Provide patient and family education
Initiate emergency/resuscitative measures according to protocol
Maintain infection control and patient safety standards
Monitor and interpret basic cardiac rhythms
Coordinate patient transfers for procedures and diagnostic testing
Administer blood transfusions according to hospital policy
Supervise LVNs and support staff
Maintain accurate and legally complete patient records
Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
