Part Time Park Maintenance Worker

This is a part-time position, averaging 29 hours per week. Work schedule will fluctuate seasonally, and March – October may be as much as 40 hours in a given week. Specific days and hours have some flexibility; however, hours of regular work are from 7:00 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m. Job will include some weekends and overtime. Position does not include full benefits; however, does include some paid time off and sick leave.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for helping to maintain city parks and facilities. Primary duties include:

• Inspects and maintains city parks, grounds, facilities, and rights-of-way.
• Mows grass.
• Operates and maintains light equipment.
• Prepares fields for sporting events; prepares facilities for special programs and events.
• Cleans pavilions, restrooms, and parking lots.
• Trims and prunes trees and shrubs; weeds and mulches flower beds.
• Operates snow plow and applies salt as needed during snow events.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

1 to 2 years related experience preferred

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
