Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the employee owned Davey Tree Expert Company. We provide a wide range of natural resource, utility, GIS, and remote sensing consulting services. This opportunity is primarily centered around assessments and monitoring related to utilities in the Mojave Desert, with a focus on species assessments in an outdoor setting. The role requires excellent physical condition and the ability to work outdoors for long days.

• Adaptable to all types of workflow
• Flexible with workload
• Work ahead of crews to monitor for species presence
• Must be willing to work Monday – Friday, with occasional Saturday
• Communicate with the crew and project manager if wildlife species are found and stop or reroute work plan to ensure wildlife is protected
• Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation
• Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions
• Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews
• Willingness to travel throughout California

• Ability to get along well with peers and supervisors in a field setting
• Experience doing outdoor work
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related field
• Previous field experience preferred, however, applicable academic experience would be considered
