Wildlands Invasive Weed Strike Team Position

Have you ever wanted to work protecting California's natural resources while restoring native plant species and habitat for California's native wildlife? Then this job is for you! This position will work on the North Central Region's Wildlands Invasive Weed Strike Team.

Under the supervision of the Fish and Wildlife Habitat Supervisor II, the incumbent will be part of a short-term region wide "Strike Team" under the North Central Region Invasive Weeds Strike Team Grant to locate, map, prioritize locations for control, and remove invasive species through mechanical, hand, and herbicide applications; to begin the reestablishment of native vegetation to the benefit of pollinators and other wildlife species.

The duties of this position are directly tied to the North Central Region Invasive Weeds Strike Team Grant that is funded for 24 months; these duties will end when the pilot ends.

Personal Leave Program:
Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary salary reductions ranging from 2% to 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) hours. Please note that the salary ranges listed in this Job Control may not reflect these reductions associated with the 2025 Personal Leave Program.

This position may be filled in the following counties:
Butte County.

This position is a 12-month Limited Term (LT) and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
