Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking energetic, safety-minded Terrain Park Rangers to build, maintain, and inspect features throughout our Terrain Park — keeping the park fresh, well-built, and guest-ready from first chair to last.

Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. - Energetic, motivated, friendly and outgoing with strong customer service skills
- Passionate about skiing/snowboarding and terrain park culture, with an eye for good feature design and flow
- Safety-minded, with sound judgment around risk management in a high-traffic guest environment
- Punctual and will show up to work on time and ready to work
- Comfortable working outdoors in variable mountain weather and at elevation
- A team player who works well with Mountain Operations, Ski Patrol, and other departments
- Ability to ski or ride terrain park features
- Detail-oriented when it comes to inspections, signage accuracy, and hazard reporting
- Adheres to employee handbook policies and serves as a professional example to other employees
- Communicates effectively and takes direction from others
- Reliable and punctual, with availability to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings during the winter season
- Open to learning new skills and supporting other departments as needed; a versatile, team-first mindset
- Hand maintenance of terrain features on a daily basis
- Opening and closing procedures of all our terrain parks
- Installation and de-installation of all park fencing, closures, signage, etc.
- Performs routine inspections of all terrain features
- Performs upkeep of all terrain features as well as fencing, signage and trash collection within the terrain park area
- Acts as the representative of the terrain park for the resort
- Reports any design flaws or grooming necessities to the Terrain Park Supervisor
- Provides customer relations, including educating guests on safe riding and park operations
- Cross-train and lend a hand in other departments as needed, building a broader understanding of resort operations.
- Take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills across the resort, supporting a well-rounded, team-first approach to the guest experience.
- Lifts and carries up to 50 lbs. regularly throughout a shift
- Works outdoors in all winter weather conditions — snow, wind, cold, and variable visibility
- Stands, walks, bends, and kneels for extended periods on uneven and snow-covered terrain
- Uses hand tools and shaping equipment repetitively throughout the day
- Comfortable on skis or a snowboard for most of a shift, including carrying gear and tools while riding
- Maintains balance and mobility while working on slopes, jumps, and rail features
- Pushes, pulls, and maneuvers signage, fencing, and other equipment across the terrain park
