Job Summary / Basic Function

The Department of Criminal Justice, History, and Politics in the College of Education, Arts and Humanities at Pennsylvania Western University is seeking qualified applicants to teach online starting in the Fall 2026 term. The position requests expertise in Behavioral Crime Analysis, with the ability to teach a broad range of subjects.
Courses will be delivered through asynchronous online instruction.

  • Strong command of instructional methods and assessment techniques for criminal justice and criminology education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and support a diverse student population.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to program growth.
  • Interest in developing partnerships and opportunities within the regional community.

Minimum of Education / Training Required Education Summary

  • A doctoral student with near completion is acceptable in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Psychology
  • Demonstrated experience teaching at the college or university level.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., D2L, Blackboard, or Canvas) and digital instructional tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A doctoral student with near completion is acceptable in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Psychology
  • Specialization or expertise in behavioral analysis/behavioral crime analysis.
  • Experience teaching online and multi-modal formats.
