We do Consulting DifferentlyThe Managing Consultant, Healthcare Payer & Provider Enterprise Strategy, is responsible for leading multi-workstream client engagements, overseeing project teams, managing client relationships, and shaping strategic insights and recommendations. This leader plays a central role in defining the structure of engagements, ensuring analytic rigor, and delivering high-impact results to senior client stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings a strong consulting toolkit, deep healthcare market knowledge across payers and providers, and demonstrated experience designing and executing strategic partnerships and integration strategies.
Key Responsibilities:Engagement Leadership
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of consulting engagements, including scoping, planning, and execution.
- Oversee multiple work streams and ensure integration of analytic output, insights, and recommendations.
- Maintain accountability for deliverable quality, timelines, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as day‑to‑day client leader, building trusted advisory relationships with senior executives at health plans, health systems, CINs, and provider groups.
- Facilitate executive workshops, steering committee sessions, and strategic planning meetings.
- Translate client needs into structured consulting approaches and actionable strategies.
Enterprise Strategy Development
- Lead development of enterprise payer and provider strategies, including market expansion and portfolio diversification, enterprise growth planning and scenario modeling, organizational strategy and transformation roadmaps, and care model, service line, and population health strategy.
- Synthesize quantitative and qualitative analyses into strategic frameworks and executive recommendations.
Strategic Partnerships & Payer‑Provider Integration
- Lead assessment, design, and implementation planning for payer‑provider partnerships, including joint ventures, delegated arrangements, and risk‑bearing entities.
- Clinically integrated networks and provider enablement models.
- ACO formation and value‑based care partnerships.
- Strategic alignment and incentive models.
- Advise clients on organizational capabilities, partnership governance, and integration requirements.
Thought Leadership & Intellectual Capital
- Shape the firm’s point of view on key industry trends including provider enablement, payer‑provider alignment, value‑based care, and enterprise transformation.
- Develop frameworks, methodologies, and toolkits that elevate firm capabilities.
- Contribute to articles, white papers, and proposal development.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Manage and mentor Associates and Senior Associates, providing coaching, feedback, and skill development.
- Foster a culture of structured problem solving, analytic rigor, quality, and collaboration.
- Participate in recruiting and professional development initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, MPP) strongly preferred.
- 6–10+ years of experience in healthcare strategy consulting or payer/provider enterprise strategy required.
- Deep understanding of healthcare markets, economics, regulatory dynamics, and payer‑provider business models.
- Demonstrated experience leading consulting engagements and managing client relationships.
- Proven ability to design and execute strategies involving provider partnerships, care model transformation, and enterprise planning.
- Exceptional communication skills, including executive‑level storytelling.
- Strong team leadership, talent development, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to travel (50%) as needed for client engagements required.
Managing Consultant Salary Range: $100,000 – $230,000 per year
