Food Production Manager (Penn West California)

AVI Food systems is looking for an energetic and optimistic leader to fill the role of Food Production Manager, Full-time at Penn West California University Goldrush in California, PA. This position includes nights and weekends. Culinary background required.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee large food production
• All ordering, inventory, counting and procurement needs
• Monitoring Jamix - pre and post production
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors
• Maintain and strive to improve efficiency standards
• Comply with SQF standards
• Demonstrate a full understanding of culinary practices and hold production team members accountable for using proper portion control methods and techniques
• Control food and labor cost

Requirements:

• 7 or more years of experience managing a food production and packaging facility
• Serv Safe Certification and HACCP understanding is a plus
• Experience with R/D
• FDA and State Inspection experience
• Understanding of department production flows
• Intermediate mechanical understanding of food production & packaging equipment is a plus
• Excellent time management skills and ability to focus on details
• A full understanding of weights and measures
• Understanding of S.O.P., S.S.O.P, and G.M.P.
• Ability to interact and work with all involved in the food safety inspection process
