Thousand Oaks CA

The ideal candidate is an early-career to moderately experienced laboratory support professional who has hands-on experience working in a biotech, pharmaceutical, laboratory, or other regulated environment.

The strongest candidate will understand GxP/GMP-regulated laboratory practices and have experience supporting laboratory operations, particularly temperature-controlled equipment, sample management, freezer/sample transfers, equipment maintenance or calibration coordination, and documentation. This is a hands-on lab operations/support position rather than a research scientist role.

The individual does not need extensive scientific research experience or an advanced degree. Most of the position-specific equipment and processes can be taught. The manager is particularly interested in someone who combines laboratory experience with a customer-service mindset.

The Operations group supports internal scientists, so the candidate needs to be responsive, approachable, organized, and comfortable helping scientists resolve day-to-day operational needs.

The person must also be comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, following established procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and communicating issues such as temperature alarms to the appropriate stakeholders.

Candidates with previous sample management, freezer management, temperature-controlled storage, or sample transfer experience is also highly desired.

Begins to become trained in Level II GLPs (if required). Read and train on area specific SOPs.

Provides basic laboratory support functions including stocking and distributing supplies and equipment;
Learns to follow Site guidelines, policies, and procedures, including lab regulations.

Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and records. Begins to demonstrate accountability for quality of product and services to minimize impact to functional areas.

Begins to interact with the clients for needs assessment. Possess basic computer operation skills.

Good comprehension and communication skills (both written and oral). Possess basic organizational and time management skills.

May serve as designee for GLP equipment and areas and learns work order system (if required). Demonstrates a working knowledge of site guidelines, policies, and procedures, including lab regulations.

Participates and contributes to group and project meetings. Performs problem resolution, including identifying problems and offering solutions.
