WESTPORT AXLE CO, a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is a leading transportation and third-party logistics provider (3PL) that offers a broad scope of services throughout the entire supply chain. Westport's experienced management team, with its state-of-the-art technology, provides customized logistics solutions to its customers resulting in proven efficiencies and savings.

Schedule: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)

Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain all paint shop processes, including chemical systems, circulation, and lab functions
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to identify root causes and implement long‑term solutions
  • Support production goals across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Develop and maintain standard work for paint and production processes
  • Support new product launches and process integration
  • Partner with maintenance, engineering, and vendors to improve performance and reduce costs
  • Use data to make informed operational decisions and identify improvement opportunities
  • Promote a strong team environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and problem‑solving
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related experience
  • Experience in automotive, paint systems, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of production processes and continuous improvement methods
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop employees
  • Knowledge of quality systems, process flows, and product launches
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed
